Hillbilly Trails operates and everyone rides at his or her own risk under KRS 411.190
Know your limitations and do not exceed your capabilities or your vehicles capabilities

1. A permit sticker must be visibly displaced on all vehicles entering the area.​

​

2. Proof of permit (sticker, wallet card, or digital proof) required for all drivers and passengers. Residents of Pike County, KY are only required to have one (1) proof of permit per vehicle which includes driver and all passengers. 

​​

3. All drivers and passengers must sign the separate, Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement. If under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign a liability waiver for that individual.

​​

4. Anyone under the age of 16 is required to wear a helmet per KRS 189.515, motorcycles included. Helmets and other protective gear including, but not limited to those items listed by the manufacturer are strongly recommended.

​​

5. All drivers and riders to follow manufacturers guidelines regarding age and size.

​​

6. Seat belts, restraints, infant seats and/or car seats required per manufacturers specifications of the vehicle for all drivers and passengers. Individual and machine liability insurance strongly encouraged.

​

7. All local, state and federal laws must be adhered to.

​​

8. No littering on property or trails. Pack it in, pack it out.

​​

9. Minors must be always under the direct supervision and within eyesight of an adult.

​​

10. Night riding allowed except in quiet zones, as posted. Ride slow and no loud music in quiet zones in daylight hours.

​​

11. No fires on the trails except in approved camping areas.

​​

12. All vehicles must have front and rear lights while driving at night.

​​

13. Year around riding allowed except for seasonal hunting restrictions as posted.

​​

14. Obey all signs, gates and barriers. Stay on marked trails.

​​

15. Operate at reasonable speeds and under control. Beware of oncoming traffic and blind curves. 

        

16. Vehicles, equines and motorcycles shall be appropriate to the riders age, size and experience.

​​

17. When operating an OHV on an approved public roadway, the driver must have a valid driver license and proof of insurance in his or her possession per KRS 189.281.

​​

18. Permits expire 12 months after your purchase on the last day of that month

Example: If you purchased your permit on March 4, 2023 your permit will expire March 31,2024.

​​

19. Dogs/pets must always be leashed when on the trails.

​​

20. Drones operated by licensed operators only.

​​

21. Stay away from active mining areas, active logging, solar panel and wind turbine operations.

​​

22. Do not stop, stand or loiter at any gas well or equipment location. These are potentially dangerous.

​​

23. Stay away from parked trail maintenance equipment such as dozers, excavators, backhoes, etc.

​​

24. Hillbilly Trails must approve all special events, including vendors.

​​

25. Pike County and Hillbilly Trails is neither liable nor responsible for damage, loss or theft of personal property or injury to visitors.

​​

26. All riders are required to stop when signaled by a law enforcement officer.

​​

27. Any rider who fails to comply with these rules may result in fines, arrest, temporary or permanent banning from using the area.
